About J.C. Newman Cigar Company

J.C. Newman Cigar Company is America’s oldest family-owned premium cigar maker. For four-generations and 123 years, J.C. Newman has been proudly handcrafting premium cigars in America. Founded by Julius Caeser Newman in 1895, today J.C. Newman is run by his grandsons, Eric and Bobby Newman, and great-grandson, Drew Newman.

J.C. Newman is headquartered in an iconic, 108-year-old cigar factory in the Ybor City National Historic Landmark District in Tampa, Florida. There, 135 skilled craftsmen roll premium cigars both by hand and by hand-operated, antique cigar machines from the 1930s.

A century ago, Tampa had more than 150 large cigar factories, which rolled 500 million cigars each year. Tampa was widely known was the “fine cigar capital of the world.” Today, J.C. Newman is the very last cigar factory still operating in Tampa.
