Amanzo Evans
Many members of Amanzo's family have worked at cigar companies over the years. At J.C. Newman Amanzo works with his long-time girlfriend and her mother. One of our newer employees, Amanzo says "I've never worked for a company where the owner knows every employee on a first name basis and praises their workers as if we are family. Friends are like family here and they stick together."

Tuptim "T.T." Playsawon
T.T. worked at Hav-a-Tampa for 14 years before her job was eliminated in a round of layoffs. She has worked on J.C. Newman's cigar floor for 5 years and was recently promoted to a floor supervisor.

Eduardo Redding and Joneshia Gay
After being laid off from Hav-a-Tampa 5 years ago, Eduardo and his wife Joneshia started working for J.C. Newman. With three young children at home, they rely on their job to provide for their family saying "there are few places that offer such a good wage to take care of our family."

Joe St. Charles
After Hav-a-Tampa closed its Tampa factory, Joe, a mechanic with 10 years of experience on cigar machines, bounced between cigar factories in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic in order to keep steady work. When J.C. Newman offered him a job maintaining the machines in Tampa, he was thrilled to settle back in to the town he loved and called home.

Juanita Green
Juanita has worked her way up to Shipping Supervisor after 25 years at J.C. Newman. She has four relatives who work here with her, including her daughter. The entire family combined has worked at J.C. Newman for 61 years.

Anchalee Kayros
Anchalee came to J.C. Newman after Hav-a-Tampa shut down. She is originally from Thailand but found her home away from home at the J.C. Newman Factory.

Supbark Dryden
Supbark is relatively new to the J.C. Newman family, but was welcomed with open arms and loves her job working on the Cigar Floor of the factory.

Gilet Chevalier
Both Gilet's mother and father worked in the cigar industry and now he works side by side with his cousin Eduardo. After working here for 4 years, Gilet says, "My life just wouldn't be the same if I didn't work at J.C. Newman."

Somchan Sawaengsri
Somchan and her husband both work at J.C. Newman. They worked at Hav-a-Tampa before making the move to our factory.
